Artist Bio

Julie Palmer is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores colour, form, and meaning through a variety of mediums including silkscreen, linocut, and ceramics. A foundation in Interior Design informs and shapes the visual language of her work.

Through her art, Julie seeks to give the viewer an opportunity to connect with the seen and unseen. To delve a little deeper into the depths of the ocean that is our internal experience. And then look up to see the sunlight glimmering on the surface.
Her recent collection, V E S S E L, features silkscreen-printed vessels on paper with hand-carved block print details. A Vessel being a holder or receiver of something, be it material, or non-material. The
V E S S E L collection explores all that a vessel can hold, and the various different forms it can take.

Drawing inspiration from the sun's power to elevate mood and shift perspectives, Julie is currently developing a new series of ceramic and linocut works. This evolving body of work considers the interaction of light with our inner and outer worlds.
